IIT Madras: Admission Schedule Jan –May 2017 for Ph.D. and M.S. (Research) Programs

IIT Madras has announced schedule of January – May 2017 academic session for admissions into Ph.D. and M.S. (by research) programs in various disciplines. Applications are accepted from 25^th September and last date for online applications is 24^th October 2016.

Candidates who have MEQ (minimum educational qualifications) as prescribed in the information brochure are only eligible to apply for Ph.D., Joint M.S. + Ph.D. and M.S. (by research) programs offered at IIT Madras. Candidates must have valid GATE or UGC-JRF, NET/CSIR-JRF/INSPIRE/XAT any of the qualifying exam score to apply for the programs. Candidates will get a monthly scholarship of Rs 25000/- for Ph.D. and Rs 12400/- for M.S. (by research) programs for a period of 3 years.  Candidates are allowed to apply for maximum of 3 departments and a separate application required for each department selected.

Eligible candidates who possess minimum educational qualifications and additional qualifications will be called for test or interview as per respective department’s admission criterion.  Candidates will be called for selection process from 18^th November to 25^th November 2016. Final selected list will be announced on 12^th December 2016 and candidates have to join the course on 27^th December 2016.

Candidates willing joining IIT Madras Ph.D. and M.S. (by research) programs have to register online to fill the application. Candidates have to create a basic profile using valid email-id and need to login with that to apply for the programs.

Candidates have to provide all academic details of U.G., P.G., any qualifying exam score, work experience and supporting documents to complete application. Candidates can pay the application of Rs.200/- (Rs.100/- other categories) to complete the allocation process.  Candidates have to take a printout of application form submitted, as it is required at the time of test or interview.

Candidates who mentioned qualifying exam as GATE in the application form, GATE 2015 and GATE 2016 scores are only valid for Jan-May sessions.
