NCHMCT Joint Entrance Exam - NCHM JEE 2017

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology an autonomous body of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India conducts the NCHM Joint Entrance Exam (NCHM JEE) to ascertain the eligibility of candidates for admissions into first year B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration course. There are 21 central government hotel management institutes, 19 state government hotel management institutes, 13 private institutes and 1 public sector under taking institute who admit candidates based on merit in NCHMCT JEE. Exam will be conducted once in an academic year. National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology has announced the NCHM JEE 2017 exam schedule and exam will be conducted on 29th April 2017.

NCHM JEE Eligibility

  • Candidates shall be domicile of India.
  • Upper age limit for General and OBC candidates is 22 years and 3 years relaxation given for SC/ST category.
  • Candidates shall posses 10+2 from any recognized board or equivalent qualification with English as one of the core/functional/elective subject.
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

NCHM JEE Exam Pattern

NCHM JEE exam pattern will be objective type and exam is conducted for 200 marks. Test paper will be available in English and Hindi languages and exam will be conducted for duration of 3 hours. Test paper will have 5 sections and assess the candidate’s knowledge in Numerical Ability & Analytical Aptitude, Reasoning & Logical Deduction, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, English Language topics and also test the aptitude of the candidate towards service sector. Exam is pen and paper based model and all the questions are MCQ type, where every question will have 4 options with single correct answer.

Except questions from Aptitude towards service sector, all the correct answers will carry 1 mark each and ¼ mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.  Aptitude towards service sector section has graded marking scheme where most appropriate answer will get 1 mark, next appropriate will get ¾ mark and least appropriate will award ½ a mark. Negative marking for Aptitude towards service sector section will be same as other sections.

English language section has highest weightage in NCHM JEE test paper and this section will have 60 MCQ questions. Here is the section/subject wise question distribution as mentioned below.

NCHM JEE 2017

NCHMCT has announced the NCHM JEE 2017 exam date and other important dates. Exam will be held on 29th April 2017 from 10:00AM to 1:00PM. Application process will be started in the month of December, 2016 and last date to submit the application is 14th April 2017. Exam will be conducted nationwide at 33 test cities.

NCHM JEE 2017 Application Process

Candidates can apply for NCHM JEE 2017 either online or offline. Online application forms will be available from 12th December to 14th April 2017. Application fee is Rs.800/- for general candidates and Rs. 400/- for SC/ST candidates. Candidates applying online have to upload the photograph and signature as part of application filling and application fee shall be remitted online.

 For candidates who are willing to apply offline, NCHMCT will make available of information brochure and application form at NCHMCT OFFICE, NOIDA office and other affiliated institutes from 19th December, 2016 to 14th February, 2017 for sale. Application fee for offline mode applicants is Rs.900/- for general candidates and Rs.450/- for SC/ST candidates. Applicants shall send the duly filled application to "JEE CELL, National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, A-34, Sector 62, Noida-201309" on or before 14th April, 2017 along with all necessary documents.

Note: Usually change of written test centre will not be allowed and at extreme conditions change in test centre will be allowed by paying Rs.1000/- on or before last date of submission.

NCHM JEE 2017 Admit Card

Admit card for NCHM JEE 2017 will be available from 19th of April, 2017 and candidates can download admit card from the official website. Candidates are advised to check the details on the admit card, in case found any discrepancy, for corrective action candidates have to contact JEE cell. Candidates have to carry 2 copies of the downloaded admit card affixed with photograph and duly attested by Gazetted Officer/Head of Institution last attended/Bank Manager of scheduled Bank/Area Post Master  to the test center. One copy shall be preserved by candidate till the NCHM JEE 2017 counselling and other will be retained by the invigilator.

NCHM JEE 2017 Results and Admissions

NCHM JEE results will be published in the month of May, 2017 and candidates can view their results on official website. Admissions for NCHMCT affiliated institutes will be carried out through e-counselling. For counselling process and other details candidates can visit nchmcounselling.nic.in website. Total of 8578 seats across India are available for admissions in 2017-18 academic year and usually counselling will be conducted for 3 rounds.
