NEET (UG) 2017: AADHAAR card mandatory for filling application

The application process for NEET UG 2017 has already started from 31st January 2017. Apart from other changes CBSE has made AADHAAR mandatory for Indian nationals to fill the NEET 2017 online application form. These days in most of the entrance exams (JEE Main, UPSEE, WBJEE), furnishing AADHAAR details was made mandatory or optional. The aspirants willing to take admissions into MBBS & BDS courses, now either shall posses AADHAAR are need to enroll to appear in NEET UG 2017. The candidates from J&K, Assam and Meghalaya are exempted from AADHAAR, and they can enter any government identity number to complete the application form.

AADHAAR is a 12 digit unique identification number issued by UADAI to all Indian nationals. CBSE has made mandatory to furnish AADHAAR details to verify the applicant’s credentials in more transparent way. The NEET UG 2017 applicants don’t need to carry any other photo identity except admit card to the test center. This will save lot of time verifying the candidate’s genuineness and also help to facilitate the candidates with other financial benefits.

The applicants who are in possession of AADHAAR shall enter the Name, DOB and gender in the application form and all the details shall match as it is mentioned in AADHAAR card.

What if candidate doesn’t have AADHAAR?

To apply NEET 2017 all the candidates have to posses AADHAAR. The applicants, who don’t have AADHAAR, can now enroll for it as application dead line is 1st March 2017. CBSE has setup AADHAAR facilitation centers nationwide for exam purpose. At facilitation centers candidates can enroll for AADHAAR. The facilitation centers will not charge any amount for enrollment. The applicants, who don’t receive AADHAAR after 3 weeks from the date of enrollment, can quote the 28 digit AADHAAR enrollment id in the application form.

In some facilitation centers AADHAAR enrollment facility may not be available. In such cases candidates can give a request for AADHAAR enrollment. The facilitation center will provide a registration number for applicants which shall be entered in the NEET 2017 application form.

The facilitation centers will also help the candidates for application form filling, image uploads, fee payment, admit card download and other documents. There are more than 2.4 lac common facilitation centers available across India and applicants can use the services for smooth process. The facilitation centers will charge a nominal fee for above said services as mentioned below.

NOTE: The applicants who are either NRI/IO/OCI or foreign nationals have to enter their passport number instead of AADHAAR in the NEET UG 2017 application form.
