National Eligibility cum Entrance Test For Master of Dental Surgery -NEET-MDS 2017

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Master of Dental Surgery (NEET – MDS) formerly known as AIPGDEE is an all India level entrance test conducted by National Board of Exams (NATBOARD) to admit the eligible candidates in various MDS programs offered at professional institutions across India. NEET – MDS is the only entrance exam to be considered for admissions into MDS courses offered in all Government / Private/ Deemed institutions across India. Previously AIPGMEE is used to conduct for admissions into 50% all India quota seats in the dental colleges except in the states J&K, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and same will be filled with NEET – MDS Score/Merit from the year 2017. NEET – MDS 2017 is scheduled to hold from 30th November to 3rd December 2016.

Eligibility

  • Candidates shall be citizen of India or person of Indian origin or overseas citizen of India.
  • Candidates shall posses BDS degree from institution/university recognized by Government of India as per Dentist act 1948
  • Candidate shall complete 12 months compulsory rotary internship.
  • Candidates, who completed final qualifying examination of BDS and undergoing rotary internship, shall complete the internship before 31st March of admitting year.
  • Candidates who completed BDS before 1988 are exempted from 12 months internship clause.
  • Candidates shall get registered with state dental council/dental council of India.
  • Candidates from J&K, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are not eligible for 50% all India quota.

Exam Pattern and Scoring

NEET – MDS is a (CBT) Computer Based TEST conducted online in 2 sessions (morning & afternoon) on selected dates; candidates can choose one from either of the sessions. Exam will be conducted at BDS standard comprising 240 multiple choice questions. Each question will have 4 options with single correct answer. Exam will be conducted for duration of 3 hours and no negative marking system is employed. Candidates have to answer the questions on a computer screen where they have an option to navigate from one question to other using review screen. Multiple question papers are delivered by the system and results are declared in percentile. Psychometric process is used to adjust the difference between all question papers and will help in equating the difficulty level. NEET – MDS score is valid only for current admission year where Candidates have to score a minimum of 50% percentile (45% for PwD, 40% for SC/ST) to get eligible for admissions.

A demo test will be available on board website from November to get familiarize with the navigation and computer based test (CBT).

Merit Lists

As NEET – MDS scores are used to admit candidates in all the available MDS programs in India, National Board of Exams will announce the merit list accordingly. Board will announce separate rank list for All India rank, All India 50% quota rank and All India 50% quota category wise rank. State wise government/private/deemed university rank lists will be generated by concerned admitting agency, based on the merit lists generated by NBE separately. Ranks and merit lists for NEET – MDS 2017 will be announced on 15th January 2017 and candidates can check their merit logging to the board website.

Admissions and Counseling

  • Medical Council committee of Directorate General of Health Services will handle the counseling cum admission process for 50% all India quota seats and candidates can refer the MCC website for more details.
  • Admission to state quota seats in government/private/university will be handled by concerned designated authority of the state as per their eligibility criteria formulated.
  • Admissions to MDS courses at private/deemed university institutes will be conducted by counseling authority of those institutes using NEET – MDS scores according to eligibility criteria.

NEET – MDS 2017

National Board of Exams has announced the NEET – MDS 2017 schedule and exam will be conducted from 30th November to 3rd December 2016. Exam is computer based online test held in 2 sessions on the selected dates from 10:00AM to 1:15PM and 3:15Pm to 6:30PM respectively. Exam dates, session & center will be allotted to the candidates as first cum first serve basis and candidates aspiring to appear NEET – MDS exam have to register online through www.natboard.edu.in website.

NEET – MDS 2017 Application Process

Application process for NEET- MDS 2017 involve 4 steps, in the first step candidate has to create profile providing personal information and uploading photograph & digital signature. After creating profile candidates have to fill the application providing nationality, DOB, and have to select the eligible quota. Candidates have to mention domicile information, institution studied, total aggregate marks in BDS, internship details and marks of identification. Candidates have to upload the photo-id and DCI/SCI registration certificate to complete the application form.

From here system will navigate the candidate to schedule the exam where candidates can select the location at which he wishes to attend the test.  NEET – MDS 2017 will be held at 41 test cities across India and availability is first cum first serve based.

Upon selection of test location system will display the available test venues within the location. Candidates have to choose the test venue to proceed for date selection. Once candidates chooses the date, system will show the available slots (either morning or afternoon) and candidates can opt one slot as per his choice. Once the date & time is selected system will navigate to payment window for fee payment.

Exam fee for NEET – MDS 2017 is Rs 3750/- (Rs 2750/- for SC/ST/PWD) and candidates have to pay the fee through online from available payments gateways only. A confirmation page will be generated and system will redirect to welcome screen where candidate can check the correctness of information, and if information is not correct he/she can avail the edit application button to rectify the mistakes.  

NEET – MDS 2017 Application Process Step by Step

 

NEET – MDS 2017Admit Cards

Candidates will receive admit cards via email within 24 hours after successful completion of application submission. Candidates have to take a printout of the admit card and need to read the information provided on the admit cards. Candidates have to affix the photograph with specifications mentioned bellow.

  • Photograph should be minimum size of 35*35mm covering 75% face & head of the candidate.
  • Name and date should be indicated below the photograph.
  • Background should be white.
  • Photograph should be printed at high resolution with at least 600dpi.

Candidates have to carry the original photo id and a copy of DCI registration certificate along with the admit card to the test venue, and have to report at least half an hour before exam starts.
