University of Madras Invites Applications for ML Private Study Admissions 2016
University of Madras, Chennai has started application process for Master of Law (ML) degree under Private Study admissions for the academic year 2016-17. Commonly called ‘Madras University’, is offering the 2 year course under the Department of Legal Studies in English medium only.
Master of Law Private Study is offered in the following branches by the university
Br-I – International Law and Constitutional Law
Br-III Criminal Law
Br-V- Intellectual Property Law
Br-VI- Human Rights and Environmental Law
Br-VII- Labour and Administrative Law
Eligibility for Admissions 2016 of Madras University M.L under Private Study
To apply for ML Private Study candidates shall have eligibility stipulated by the University of Madras. Candidate to be eligible for admissions have to possess a 3 year B.L./L.L.B. or 5 year B.L./L.L.B. from any recognized university. Candidate shall have passed the qualifying degree in regular pattern i.e., (10+2+3+3) or (11+1+3+3) or (10+2+5).
University offers 10 days of personal contact programme every year at it's school at chepauk, which is compulsory for pursuant of the course, and then only will be eligible for 1st year or 2nd year exams. Candidates to be awarded with the M.L degree under private study shall have to complete the course within 5 years from the date of joining the course.
Application Procedure
Application for ML Private study can be obtained from the “Application Sales Counter” located at the Chepauk Campus of the university up on payment of cash Rs.200/- (Rs.100 for SC/ ST), or can be obtained by post with a requisition letter sent along with a DD for a sum of Rs.250/- (Rs.50/- towards postage charges) in favor of “The Registrar, University of Madras, Chennai -600 005.”. Application can also be downloaded from the university website and submitted along with a DD for the sum Rs.200/- against application fee.
Last date for submission of filled in application is 17th November, 2016. Candidates whose registration is approved have to join ML Private Study, by submitting prescribed form together with the prescribed fee of Rs.15,000/-.
