Banaras Hindu University BHU MBA Admissions 2017: Applications Invited

Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University has announced admission schedule for MBA and MBA-IB for 2017-18 academic year and applications are accepted till 20th December, 2016. There are 46 seats in each discipline and 15% supernumerary seats are available under paid seats scheme. Admissions are open for both Indian and foreign nationals.

Candidates aspiring for MBA admission in BHU-IMS can download the application form from the institute website and have to fill all the necessary details. Candidates have to affix and self attest a photograph on the application form. A sum of Rs.1500/- (Rs.800/- for SC/ST) towards application fee has to be paid in the form of DD. Application form along with DD and all necessary documents shall be sent to “The Dean, Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu university, Varanasi - 221005 (UP)” to reach before the last date.

Candidates who passed bachelor degree in 10+2+3 format or graduate from agriculture, technology, Medicine, Education and Law or Any post graduate degree holders with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) are eligible for MBA admissions. Candidates appearing in final year of qualifying exam in 2017 are also eligible to apply, whose final exam should be concluded on are before 30th June, 2017. Candidates shall appear CAT 2016 as CAT scores have 50% weightage in calculating merit for MBA and MBA-IB admissions.

Foreign candidates are exempted from appearing CAT 2016, GD & PI and valid GMAT (500+) scores will be accepted for admissions.

Admissions to MBA programmes are made on combined merit of CAT scores, Academic performance and performance in GD & PI.  Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group discussion and Personal Interview based on CAT 2016 score. Candidates called for GD & PI will have to remit a fee of Rs.2000/- in the form of DD while appearing.

Academic performance will have 20% weightage and GD & PI will have 30% weightage on final selection. Counselling will be held in order of merit of candidate’s combined merit in CAT 2016 (50%), Academic performance (20%) and GD & PI (30%) and selected candidates will be provisionally admitted to the course.

Candidates have to carry all the original documents for counselling and provisionally admitted candidates have to pay the necessary fees within last date as prescribed.

  • Duly signed application form
  • DD of Rs 1500/- (Rs 800/- for SC/ST)
  • CAT 2016 Admit card photocopy
  • Self attested copies of 10th, 10+2 and qualifying degree mark sheets
  • Other documents like caste certificate and PwD certificate if applicable.
