JEE Advanced 2016 Results Out, Cut off Marks Reduced

Results for JEE Advanced 2016 exam were declared on 12th June by IIT Guwahati on behalf of Joint Admission Board.

The exam is conducted for admission in to IITs and ISM, and the exam has been taken by 2 Lac top scorers from JEE Main 2016. The JEE Advanced 2016 was conducted on 22nd May in two parts Paper1 and Paper 2 for a total of 372 Marks.

Aman Bansal from Jaipur is the topper in JEE Advanced this year, and Riya Singh is the topper among girls.

Though cut off marks of 35% (for general category) was set at the time of notification, IIT Guwahati has reduced it to 20% in view of the increased number of seats in IITs from this year.

There were 19 IITs including ISM Dhanbad till last year and this toll has gone up to 23, and about 569 new seats in IITs became available from this year.

The new IITs that started academic sessions from this year are IIT Goa, IIT Jammu, IIT Bhilai and IIT Dharwad.

Not all the courses are available in each institute, however for the list of courses offered by individual institute can be checked on official JEE Advanced website.
